Andy Ferguson
With over 40 years in the cleaning and restoration industry, Andy boasts a wealth of knowledge in the areas of carpet, upholstery and hard floor cleaning, stain removal, and water damage restoration.
Andy is an IICRC Master Textile Cleaner, having completed training in IICRC Water Damage Restoration, Commercial Carpet Maintenance, Carpet Repair and Reinstallation, Upholstery and Fabric, Leather Cleaning, Odour Control, and Colour Repair. He is also a past Vice President of the Carpet Cleaners Association of NZ.
“I learnt to clean any type of fabric, clean all carpets (and Persian rugs . . . all those scary bleeders), lay carpet and do repairs, water restoration and carpet dyeing” he says.
These experiences have taught him three very valuable lessons:
- Market yourself to present a ‘professional’ image, and perform like a professional
- Acquire knowledge . . . become an expert at what you do by acquiring the best in depth knowledge through quality training and on site experiences
- Shell out the money and use the best equipment – which lasts
He says “We never stop learning in this profession because new technologies are always being developed and new textiles and floorings are being created.”
